 | Gary Millar Gary has been the Principal of QTC since the start of 2012. After studying chemistry in his home city of Belfast, Gary moved to Aberdeen in Scotland to study theology, before completing a D.Phil at Oxford on Deuteronomy. Gary worked as a pastor for the next 17 years in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and was involved in both church revitalization and church planting, before moving to Brisbane to lead the team at QTC. Gary teaches Old Testament, Pastoral Ministry and Preaching, and preaches every Tuesday morning in college chapel. Gary has written on Deuteronomy (Now Choose Life in the NSBT series, Time and Place in Deuteronomy JSOTS 174), 1, 2 Kings (ESV Expository Commentary), Prayer (Calling on the name of the Lord: A Biblical Theology of Prayer also in the NSBT series) and Preaching (Saving Eutychus, written with Phil Campbell), and contributed to several other works (New Dictionary of Biblical Theology; The Trustworthiness of God (ed. Paul Helm and Carl Trueman); Jesus Betrayed and Crucified in His Mission: Jesus in the Gospel of Luke (ed. D.A. Carson and K. Nielsen), and the ESV Men’s Devotional Bible). At the beginning of 2020, the Good Book Company published his book Need to Know on the Christian life, soon followed by 2 Corinthians for You. He is currently working on a major commentary on Deuteronomy and is an Associate Series Editor (Old Testament) of the Christian Standard Commentary. Gary travels widely throughout Australia and beyond, seeking to encourage local churches. He is also a co-founder of The Gospel Coalition Australia.  | Andrew Bain Andrew has taught Church History, Christian Ethics, and Philosophy at QTC since 2008, and has served as our Vice-Principal since 2013. Andrew grew up in the Redlands east of Brisbane, and still loves the Bay; spending time there with family and friends whenever he gets the chance. Prior to coming to QTC, he was a pastor on the NSW Central Coast, having previously spent five years with the Queensland Government working in economic policy and project management. Andrew completed first-class honours degrees in both history and theology from UQ and Moore Theological College, as well as Masters (Cambridge University) and PhD (UQ) degrees in history. His doctoral research was on how several of the Early Church Fathers understood the work of Christ. Andrew has also studied philosophy, completing a masters degree on Kant’s ethics at Macquarie, for which he was awarded the University Medal. He is keenly interested in developing and strengthening teaching and learning at QTC and beyond, among other things serving as Head of the Australian College of Theology’s (ACT) Department of Christian Thought & History and Chair of the ACT’S Coursework Committee. He has published in a range of areas in Christian ethics, historical theology, and adult education, including his recent volumes Passion and Resurrection Narratives: Post Nicene Latin Interpretations and Theological Education: Foundations, Practices and Future Directions (edited with Ian Hussey). Andrew is also the Chair of the Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students (AFES) National Board. He is married to Robyn, and they have two girls, Guinevere and Julia.  | Wesley Redgen Wesley has taught New Testament and Greek at QTC since 2005. Trained at SMBC and QTC, he was a pastor for 15 years, first in country NSW and then in Ipswich. Wes grew up in Bald Hills on Brisbane’s northside, previously trained as an English and History teacher and worked in a bank for five years. He completed his doctorate on Galatians at UQ in 2016 (having previously done a research masters degree on justification by faith in Paul’s letters, and an honours degree in ancient Greek). Wes throws himself into encouraging students in every year to grow more like the Lord Jesus. Wes is husband to Evelyn, and dad to four adult children Sophie, Nathan, Phoebe and Ben.  | Mark Baddeley Mark came to QTC in 2012 straight from Oxford, where he was working on his D.Phil. on Athanasius’ Doctrine of the Atonement, having already done a masters degree in systematic theology (also at Oxford University). Prior to that, Mark had studied and then taught at Moore Theological College. Since coming back to Brisbane, the boy from Arana Hills has settled on the bayside, where he is an Elder at Redlands Presbyterian Church. Mark is married to Jenny and has two boys, Jonathan and Sam.  | Douglas Green Doug has been teaching Old Testament at QTC since the beginning of 2016. After practising law for four years in Sydney, Doug and his wife Rosemarie went to the USA in 1982 to study at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. He received his MDiv from Westminster and later his PhD from Yale University. From 1992 to 2015 he taught Old Testament and Biblical Theology at Westminster. He has published articles on the Psalms, Ezra-Nehemiah, and Genesis. He has also authored a book on the ancient Near Eastern background to the Old Testament. He and Rosemarie have a son and daughter who still reside in the US. |
 | Brandon Szerlip Brandon Szerlip is our Lecturer in New Testament. He was educated at Moody Bible Institute, Wheaton College Graduate School, and Westminster Theological Seminary. He began at Moody as a missionary aviation major and actually completed his Airframe and Powerplant mechanic’s license. However, it was at Moody that he discovered a deep passion for the study of God’s Word and so went on to study theology. From 2013 to 2020 he taught Greek and the New Testament’s use of the Old Testament for Westminster Theological Seminary, while at the same time completing his PhD. He has published an article on the ‘Nature of Glory from a Philosophical and Biblical Perspective’ and is working to submit his dissertation on the use of the Old Testament in Philippians to published soon. He is passionate about being in the classroom and letting each text show how the Bible presents a beautiful and grand story of God’s unshakeable love for his people and his determination to make all things new based on the finished work of the resurrected Messiah, Jesus. Brandon is married to Alexa and they have three young children. |

Simon Kennedy Simon holds a PhD in intellectual history, and is a published author in the area of early modern thought in relation to religion in society, and other aspects of Christian thought and Christianity’s relationship to the wider world. He teaches Christian liberal arts with Christian Heritage College on Brisbane’s southside and is part of the church family at Redlands Presbyterian Church. Simon assists QTC by teaching in the areas of Christian Apologetics and Reformation Church History. |

David Evans David has completed a PhD (Macquarie University) in New Testament studies, focusing on the historical background to the book of Acts. He teaches Christian Studies at St Peter’s Lutheran College as his main focus, while helping teach our introductory New Testament units at QTC. David and his family attend Rosalie Baptist Church in Brisbane’s inner west. |

Peter Jensen Peter was principal of Moore Theological College from 1985 to 2001. From 2001 to 2013 he served as Archbishop of Sydney in the Anglican Church of Australia. QTC benefits from his knowledge and experience as he teaches Systematic Theology to our first year students. |

Robyn Bain Robyn is married to Andrew, and teaches the theological ethics course with him. Robyn worked as a medical doctor for 14 years and also completed a theological degree at Moore College, Sydney, and postgraduate study in bioethics. Robyn is the Chair of the Presbyterian Church of Queensland’s public questions and social ethics committee, Gospel in Society Today (GiST), and the Chair of the annual Brisbane-based womens conference, GROW. She has also worked as the women’s pastor on a church team, in student ministry with AFES in NSW, and as a speaker she is a great encouragement to women in a wide range of contexts. |

Fiona Millar Fiona is married to Gary, and brings over 25 years of experience to both our Children’s Ministry subject and M2W, our 12 week ministry course for women (co-led with Robyn Bain). Fiona trained as a teacher at Oxford, taught for 7 years in England and Ireland, whilst doing student ministry and evangelism. After the Millars moved to Dublin in 2000, Fiona led the Children’s Ministry (teaching, writing material and training both paid and volunteer leaders) and Women’s Ministry (setting up a citywide network for those involved in teaching women the Bible). As well as looking after her daughters, Lucy, Sophie and Rebekah, Fiona is now involved in writing Children’s material, training new leaders, encouraging and supporting those involved in Women’s Ministry and teaching Scripture in her local school. She regularly speaks at Christian women’s events across Queensland and beyond. Fiona has recently completed a Masters in Education from University College London. |

Danny Mitchell Danny Mitchell is on the team at Ann Street Presbyterian Church looking after the evening congregation and youth group ministry. He was previously the Youth Pastor at Arundel Presbyterian Church on the Gold Coast and a YNET Consultant with PCQ. He is married to Kate and they have three children. Originally from Plumpton in Western Sydney, Danny studied his MDiv at SMBC and ministered in Sydney, before moving to Queensland in 2010. Danny is a gifted communicator who weaves his wealth of experience into our Youth Ministry subjects |

Carolyn Russell Carolyn has over thirty years experience as a GP and Christian Counsellor here in Brisbane. Carolyn has developed and teaches our Pastoral Skills and Methods unit. When she is not busy counselling or training others she can be found at her sewing machine. |

Richard Shumack Richard, is a research fellow with the Centre for Public Christianity in Sydney, and has completed a PhD relating to Islam at the University of Melbourne after initial theological training at Moore College, Sydney. He is the Director of the Centre for the Study of Islam at MST. He teaches regularly on ministry in Muslim contexts in Australian colleges, universities, churches and schools. For ten years, Richard pastored a multi-ethnic local church. His publications include Witnessing to Western Muslims and the philosophical apologetic The Wisdom of Islam and the Foolishness of Christianity. He lives in Sydney with his wife and four sons. Richard teaches at QTC on ministry in diverse cultural contexts and on ministry in Muslim contexts. |
