Courses on Offer

The Master of Theology (AQF level 9 Masters Research) course has been designed for research to be undertaken normally in one field of specialisation within either the Department of Bible and Language, Department of Christian Thought and History, or Department of Ministry and Practice.
The PhD is a research doctorate normally involving a thesis of around 80,000 words. QTC offers expert supervision in a number of areas of theological study, with particular strengths in Old Testament studies, Biblical Theology, Patristics and Historical Theology.

Choosing your course to study

As an Affiliated College of Australian University of Theology (CRICOS 02650E), QTC is approved to teach a great range of Australian University of Theology courses for a great range of people. When choosing a course you need to consider how much time you can afford to spend studying (ranging from 1 semester to 3 years full-time), whether you need to study full-time or part-time, and importantly what you are hoping to use your study for – that is, which area of ministry you would like to serve in in future. Your choice of course will also be influenced by factors such as your OP (for students under 21), or whether or not you have a uni degree already.

If you can’t enrol in a full course of study straight away, you can enrol in individual units of study, with the potential for credit into an Australian University of Theology course at a later date. (For more information, see Section 5.9 of the Australian University of Theology Coursework Course Enrolment Policy.) If you are currently studying at another registered higher education provider, you may be able to study some units for credit with QTC. Please contact the Registrar at [email protected] for details.

To get more of an idea of what is involved if you successfully enrol in a course check out our Studying at QTC page.

QTC’s aim is to provide top class theological training that faithfully applies the Word of God to the real world. We seek to do this as a real living Christian community, and as part of a wider Christian fellowship here in Brisbane.

We acknowledge with respect the Traditional Custodians of this land on which we now meet. In his wisdom and love, our Heavenly Father gave it to the Turrbal and Jegera people (see Acts 17:26). On this land, they met for generations before the coming of British settlers. As we now live together here, we pray that God would reconcile and unite us in a knowledge of his Son, Jesus Christ.

QTC is a ministry of the Presbyterian Church of Queensland and is an affiliated college of the Australian University of Theology. (Australian University of Theology CRICOS CODE 02650E)
