The QTC MDiv is an integrated programme of theological training designed to prepare people for full-time ministry in local churches, overseas mission contexts and various para-church roles. It is particularly targeted at those who have previously studied at tertiary level.
At QTC full-time MDiv students follow an integrated course of study, designed to help them see the connections between different subjects, and between their subjects and ministry in the real world. Part-time MDiv students at QTC complete the same units as full-time students, and choose their electives from the same options.
Students study a set program of subjects designed to introduce them to the major areas of the Bible (OT, NT, Greek and Hebrew language subjects) and how biblical ministry functions in all kinds of real-world contexts with their different social and cultural challenges (Theology, Ethics, Church History and Practical subjects).
This course can also be studied part time over a maximum 9 years
Students studying the MDiv at QTC follow one of our five pathways for ministry. The course requirements for the Pathways are as follows: Pastor’s Pathway, Missions Pathway, Workplace Evangelism Pathway, Women’s Ministry Pathway, Youth and Children’s Ministry Pathway, General Pathway.

The MDiv is ideally studied as a full-time course over three years. Students may also study part-time (see below), but may not enjoy some of the benefits of the integrated full-time curriculum as a result. We believe that preparation for ministry occurs best within the context of real Christian community and face-to-face learning. While QTC does offer some MDiv units in online mode, it is not possible to study more than a third of the MDiv at QTC by distance. We offer a small number of graduate-level subjects in intensive mode which may be included into the MDiv course plan. All students must complete 288 credit points (i.e. 24 semester units) including a common core of units, and a compulsory 12cp project, advanced independent reading unit, or capstone unit.

QTC’s aim is to provide top class theological training that faithfully applies the Word of God to the real world. We seek to do this as a real living Christian community, and as part of a wider Christian fellowship here in Brisbane.
We acknowledge with respect the Traditional Custodians of this land on which we now meet. In his wisdom and love, our Heavenly Father gave it to the Turrbal and Jegera people (see Acts 17:26). On this land, they met for generations before the coming of British settlers. As we now live together here, we pray that God would reconcile and unite us in a knowledge of his Son, Jesus Christ.
