I'm a QTC Student

2025 QTC Calendar

The current QTC Calendar details semester dates, as well as key events and training courses. Pastors may find this useful for planning their own events, and for advertising events you believe your congregation would benefit from attending. If you see an event you are interested in attending please visit our Events page for more details and to register.

2025 Semester 1 Timetable

If you are thinking of studying at QTC here is what a week at QTC will look like:

The QTC Schedule of Unit Offerings lists every unit which is offered on a regular basis at QTC.

QTC Women

QTC Women exists to help all women associated with college to have a sense of belonging to QTC. We want to look for opportunities to encourage each other to keep going and keep growing until we see Jesus face-to-face. Our expectation is that God can and will use us in each other’s lives in a gospel-shaped way.

We want to make sure women in our college community are cared for and supported, and our team is reviewing how we keep doing that well.

Panel on Equipping Women

Here at QTC, we are passionately committed to seeing women equipped for gospel ministry during their time at college. Our Panel for Equipping Women (made up of the Principal, Vice Principal and a range of experienced, godly women from the QTC community) oversees the encouragement, growth and development of female students for a range of paid and volunteer ministry roles.

Some of the ways we do this are through regular connecting lunches, prayer and sharing together, discussing theological, ministry and cultural articles, sharing lives and facilitating catching up one to one with women experienced in ministry. As we do this, we model ministry among women for the students and point them to Jesus. We also promote appropriate equipping opportunities such as developing skills in giving Bible talks, visiting speakers and workshops or training events.

Student Support Services

The external links below are listed for student convenience and, except where expressly mentioned, do not have special links with the College. Students will need to enquire directly with external service providers about any costs involved. Any services mentioned below that are provided by the College (eg personal counselling, academic help and student advocacy) do not incur additional fees.

Every member of staff at QTC (both admin and teaching) is committed to serving and caring for our students – we really are here for you!

During your time at College we want to do everything we can to support, encourage and cheer you on. Any student may of course, talk to the most natural person on staff about issues concerning them at any time.

In addition to the general relationships of College life, we provide the following support:

For Men

  • Full-time students: At least two ‘catch-ups’ per semester with a member of the teaching faculty to whom you will be assigned at the start of each semester
  • Part-time students: One ‘catch-up’ per semester with a member of the teaching faculty to whom you will be assigned at the start of each semester
  • (NB Catch-ups are not intended to be formal mentoring sessions, but will over time provide a College-focused hybrid of mentoring, discipleship and pastoral care.)
  • Of course, you are free to talk to any member of staff at any time, but your support person will normally be your first port of call. When significant issues come up, your support person may pass you on the Principal.

For Women

  • Full-time students: At least two catch-ups per semester with a member of the Panel on Equipping Women
  • Part-time students: At least one catch-up per semester with a member of the Panel on Equipping Women
  • In addition, female students are encouraged to go directly to the Principal with issues of concern, who will make this a priority, either dealing with it himself or connecting you with an appropriate older woman (normally a member of the Panel or on occasion, a member of the Admin team)

Peer Support

At the end of 2024, some students requested that we introduce Student Prayer Groups. These are mixed groups of up to four students. Students will sign up at the start of semester to take part in a group which meets on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. We will assign everyone to a group by the end of week 1. It will be the responsibility of the first name in each group (an upper year student) to convene the group and work out a time to meet each week. The purpose of the groups is simply to pray for and support one another through the semester. Prayer groups will be open to all students.

What do I do if/when things fall apart?

We would encourage you to take the following steps:

  • Step 1: Go to your assigned student support person OR
  • Go to the Principal (or Vice Principal)

If none of these people are available…

  • Step 2: Go to any member of staff

If you go through a significant personal crisis, we may make immediate contact with either your pastor, a mental health professional or a health professional. If possible, we will make arrangements for a member of staff or another student to take you home or other appropriate place.

All new students are required to attend our Referencing and Essay Writing Workshops at the commencement of their course. If you have further questions on referencing, please contact our Librarian, Annette McGrath [email protected] and for other assessment-related assistance please contact our Academic Dean, Katie Allan [email protected].

QTC’s aim is to provide top class theological training that faithfully applies the Word of God to the real world. We seek to do this as a real living Christian community, and as part of a wider Christian fellowship here in Brisbane.

We acknowledge with respect the Traditional Custodians of this land on which we now meet. In his wisdom and love, our Heavenly Father gave it to the Turrbal and Jegera people (see Acts 17:26). On this land, they met for generations before the coming of British settlers. As we now live together here, we pray that God would reconcile and unite us in a knowledge of his Son, Jesus Christ.

QTC is a ministry of the Presbyterian Church of Queensland and is an affiliated college of the Australian University of Theology. (Australian University of Theology CRICOS CODE 02650E)
