Starting Point
Want to be better equipped for service in your congregation? Want to be able to better explain to others why you are a Christian and what it means to be Christian? Then Starting Point is for you!
Starting point is designed for people who want to delve deeper into studying the Bible and theology and prefer to do so by distance mode. It is a "starting point" for those who haven't done formal theological study before and one of its aims is to prepare and enthuse students for further theological study, such as QTC's degree-level courses.
There are two Starting Point subjects, Introduction to Systematic Theology and Introduction to Biblical Theology. Subjects may be started at any time and normally take ten weeks to complete. Each subject employs user-friendly and user-involved notes, DVDs and a set textbook. Each subject has two pieces of assessment to complete - a one-hour assignment in Week Three and a 1500 word essay in Week Ten. The tutor for both subjects is Rev Robert Herrgott, Minister of Ithaca Presbyterian in Brisbane. Cost per subject is $50.
For more information about the course, you can contact Robert by email at rgherrgott@bigpond.com or by phone on (07) 3300 6158. You can also download an enrolment form and further information here.
